Planting Guidelines for Sunflower
- •Optimal planting time: November to December
- •Planting depth: 2-5 cm
- •Row spacing: 60-90 cm between rows, 20-30 cm within rows
- •Seeding rate: 5-7 kg/ha (20,000-25,000 plants/ha)
- •Plant population: 20,000-30,000 plants per hectare
Soil & Fertilizer Requirements
- •Prefers well-drained sandy loam to clay loam soils
- •Ideal soil pH: 6.0-7.5
- •Basal fertilizer: Compound D (200-300 kg/ha) at planting
