Planting Guidelines for Sugar Beans

  • Optimal planting time: December to January
  • Planting depth: 3-5 cm in heavy soils, 4-6 cm in light soils
  • Row spacing: 45-60 cm between rows, 5-10 cm within rows
  • Seeding rate: 50-80 kg/ha depending on seed size
  • Plant population: 200,000-250,000 plants per hectare

Soil & Fertilizer Requirements

  • Prefers well-drained sandy loam to clay loam soils
